Qualifications

• 2 Year/Associate Degree in Science in Histology or Medical Technology.
• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology is beneficial.
• State of Florida Technologist License OR ability to obtain license during interview.

Responsibilities

• Analyze testing samples and perform quality control per protocol.
• Embed tissue specimens in correct orientation (45–60 seconds per block).
• Section paraffin blocks at 35–40 blocks per hour.
• Produce sections with correct thickness and minimal artifacts.
• Perform routine H&E stain per department procedure.
• Recognize poor staining and correct to meet standards.
• Perform on-site special stains and histo-chemical methods.
• Prepare smears, cell blocks, and Cytospin preparations.
• Enter correct Cytology and Pathology numbers and clinical data.
