Job summary

Charles River in Ashland, OH is seeking a Technician I for our 1st shift Histology Team. You will be in training to perform onboarding skills, learn basic tasks in Pre-Trim and Trimming, and work under supervision to gain proficiency in a collaborative lab setting.

The role emphasizes animal welfare, data collection, protocol reading, and adherence to GLP/SOP/BOP/IACUC standards. You should be able to work extended hours, a safe environment, and communicate effectively within the team.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Proficiency with basic computer systems and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Ensure welfare and humane care for animals.
• Train in onboarding tasks including GLP and new hire orientation.
• Collect, document, review data and verify in systems.
• Review QC documentation and ensure data integrity.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation.
• Read and interpret protocols.
• Communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
• Manage multiple tasks to achieve goals.
• Maintain safe working environment per PPE and safety rules.
• Follow GLP/SOP/BOP/IACUC requirements.
• Work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, or extra shifts.
