Job summary

Nicklasstaffing is seeking a Histology Technician in Galveston, TX. The role requires preparing tissue specimens, embedding and staining, and supporting quality control in a clinical lab environment.

Responsibilities include data entry, instrument operation, inventory management, and potential training duties for new staff. A BS in a relevant field and two years histology experience are required; HTL(ASCP) certification is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum BS degree in Biological, health or related field; two years histology experience preferred.
• HTL(ASCP) certification or eligible is required.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities; proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing of specimens, data entry and documentation of quality control.
• Perform embedding, microtomy, and staining procedures per protocols.
• Operate and monitor lab equipment and ensure safety and cleanliness of work area.
• Maintain inventory and order supplies; assist in QA/QC activities.
• May serve as bench instructor and contribute to training of new staff.
