Job summary

IHA in Fresno, CA is seeking a part-time Histology Technician to prepare surgical, autopsy, and cytology specimens for microscopic examination. The role may include teaching students in an ASCP-approved Histologic Technique program and preparing for the ASCP-HT exam.

Candidates should have a HS diploma, biology/chemistry coursework, 1 year histology experience, and strengths in accuracy, reliability, and written/spoken communication.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Completion of one college biology class and/or one college chemistry class required.
• One year of experience as a Histology Trainee or Histology Technologist.
• Patience, mechanical ability, knowledge of anatomy, chemistry and physiology required.
• Experience in enzyme histochemistry and immunoperoxidase stains required.
• Accuracy, reliability, ability to work under pressure, and strong oral and written communication required.
• Good hand/eye coordination, speed with accuracy, and focus preferred.

Requirements

• Patience, mechanical ability, functional knowledge of anatomy, chemistry, and physiology is required.
• Experience in enzyme histochemistry and immunoperoxidase stains is required.
• Accuracy, reliability, working well under pressure, ability to finish a task once started, communication skills both oral and written are required.
• Good hand/eye coordination, speed with accuracy and good mental concentration is preferred.

Pay Range: $32.03- $44.83
