Job summary

All Industry Staffing Solutions in Union City, CA is hiring a Histology Technician to prepare tissue sections, process and stain samples, and mount specimens for pathologist review.

You will operate lab equipment to fix, dehydrate, and infiltrate with wax, document work, generate reports, and maintain histology manuals while helping to develop new services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline is required.
• Experience with histology techniques and tissue processing is preferred.
• Proficiency in data entry and report generation is expected.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sections of human and/or animal tissue using rapid processing and frozen section technique.
• Prepare slides or specimens with stains to enhance visibility under microscope.
• Operate computerized lab equipment for fixation, dehydration, and paraffin embedding; maintain and troubleshoot equipment.
• Perform data entry of all work and generate required reports.
• Maintain histology manuals and assist in developing new services and procedures.

Job description

Prepares sections of human and/or animal tissue, using rapid tissue processing and frozen section technique to cut, mount, and stain tissue specimens.

Prepares slides or specimens, using special cutting and specified stain, to enhance visibility under microscope.

Operates computerized laboratory equipment to fix, dehydrate, and infiltrate with wax, tissue specimens to be preserved for study by pathologist; maintains and troubleshoots delicate electronic histological equipment.

Performs computerized data entry of all work performed and generates reports as required.

Maintains all histologic manuals in the laboratory; recommends and develops new services, projects, and procedures.
