Responsibilities

• Perform procedures/protocols in Cytology, Histology, and Pathology.
• Receive and assign accession numbers to tissue and fluid specimens.
• Process curetting's, routine TUR, and bone marrow specimens.
• Prepare sections of body tissue specimens for examination.
• Maintain work area in a safe, aseptic, and organized manner.
• Perform quality control and maintenance on equipment.
• Participate in evaluation of new techniques/instruments.

How you'll contribute

• Performs procedures/ protocols in Cytology, Histology, and Pathology.
• Receives and assigns accession numbers to tissue and fluid specimens and logs them into the AP computer system.
• Processes curetting's and routine TUR and bone marrow specimens. Reports any abnormal or suspicious appearing specimens.
• Prepares sections of body tissue specimens by fixation, decalcification, dehydration, and embedding for examination by a pathologist.
• Maintains work area in a safe, aseptic and organized manner.
• Performs and monitors quality control, calibration, and corrective/ preventative maintenance on equipment, instruments, and tests.
• Participates in the evaluation of new techniques/ instruments/ equipment and in researching/ developing new procedures.
