Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital in Georgia is seeking a Histotechnician/Histotechnologist to prepare tissue samples, stain them, and have them ready for the pathologist’s review. You will prioritize testing procedures and maintain accurate records in accordance with policies.

No experience is required for recent graduates; one year of technical experience in a surgical pathology lab is required or three years in surgical pathology is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: HS Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: No experience required for recent graduates; 1 year of technical experience in a surgical pathology lab required or 3 years in surgical pathology preferred.
• Licenses: HT - Histotechnologist/Histotechnician ASCP certification required or eligibility; compliance with Georgia state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Cutting, staining and preparing tissue samples for pathologist review; prioritize testing procedures and maintain accurate records per policies and regulations.
