Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a Histotechnician/Histotechnologist to join our pathology team. The role involves cutting, staining, and preparing tissue samples for the pathologist, with emphasis on accurate and timely procedures and meticulous record-keeping.

Education requirements include a high school diploma or GED; recent graduates from an accredited histology program are welcomed, and relevant experience or ASCP HT certification is preferred.

Formación

• Education: H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Recent graduate from an accredited histology program.
• In lieu of degree, 1 year of technical experience in a surgical pathology lab is required.
• 3 years experience in a surgical pathology laboratory preferred.
• ASCP HT histotechnologist/technician certification required or acceptable per state regulations.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and cut tissue samples; stain and process slides for pathologist review.
• Prioritize testing procedures and complete procedures accurately and timely; maintain proper records.
