Qualifications

• New York State license for Medical Lab Technician is required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate degree in Science/Medical Technology recommended.
• Basic computer literacy and data handling skills.

Responsabilités

• Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Participate in performance and quality improvement activities and data collection.
• Process tissue specimens using automated equipment or manually.
• Embed, cut and stain tissue blocks.
• Cover and label histological slides.
• Perform special stains as assigned and within experience.
• Maintain accurate identification and running records of all accessions.
• Orient and train new employees when appropriate.
• Inspect working equipment daily and maintain supply inventory.
• Prepare solutions as needed.
