Qualifications

• Knowledge of handling chemical and biohazardous material is preferred.
• Basic biology knowledge and medical terminology are required.
• A Bachelor of Science with related coursework is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform morning slide turn out and route slides to pathologists.
• QC check of block to slide before turn out and perform IHC/special stains.
• Answer histology phones and support pathologists and histologists as needed.
• Accession cases and maintain ultra reagent supplies.
• Maintain blocks and unstained slides; ensure safe disposal of materials.
• Learn embedding, microtomy and special stains as part of growth.
