Quest Diagnostics is hiring a Lab Assistant II – Histology in Hackensack, NJ. This hospital-based role operates Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM with rotational weekends and includes duties from slide preparation to tissue processing.

Candidates typically have 1 year of histopathology or related lab experience and familiarity with LIS data handling. Benefits include comprehensive health plans and retirement options.

Qualifications

1 year of histopathology or other laboratory experience.
1 year of experience handling PHI with a Laboratory Information System.

Responsibilities

Prepare slides for microscopic evaluation under supervision.
Receive, label and prepare tissue specimens for dissection.
Maintain and clean equipment.
Perform cover slipping of slides (manual or automated).
Perform routine H&E staining (manual or automated).
Prepare reagents for tissue processing and staining under supervision.
Process paperwork for accessioning and reporting.
Handle assigned clerical duties and monitor pending lists as needed.
Generate department statistics and maintain supplies.
