Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Manager to join our team at Ascension St. Vincent in Jacksonville, FL. The role oversees Histology and Cytology operations, staffing, and compliance across CAP, CLIA, and state requirements.

The manager will supervise, train, and mentor staff, perform bench testing as needed, and ensure timely, accurate diagnostics with exceptional service levels for clients and partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science or related field.
• 5+ years of histology experience in a clinical diagnostics laboratory.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience managing several direct reports.
• Florida Histology Supervisor License.

Responsibilities

• Direct the daily operational activities of the Histology and Cytology departments, both the technical and non-technical operations.
• Effectively manage staffing and monitor the production schedule to ensure adequate coverage and proper use of overtime.
• Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory supervisors and have ownership for all departmental staff.
• Perform bench-level laboratory testing as needed to support workflow and ensure continuity of operations.
• Ensure the diagnostics laboratory provides market leading service levels and meets client needs and service metrics.
