Job summary

Qualifications

• Histology Technician or Histology Technologist Florida License required.
• ASCP certification preferred.
• 1 year of laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process tissue from fixation to final slide, including special stains and techniques.
• Maintain required files, records, and documentation for compliance.
• Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Stock and manage laboratory supplies.
• Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Location: Winter Haven Hospital – Winter Haven, FL

Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Schedule: PRN | Occasional Weekends | No On-Call

Status: Non-Exempt

Role Overview

As a Histologist, you’ll prepare and process tissue specimens from fixation to final slide preparation, ensuring accuracy and quality in support of patient diagnosis. You’ll also help maintain lab compliance and equipment while working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

• Process tissue from fixation to final slide, including special stains and techniques
• Maintain required files, records, and documentation for compliance
• Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments
• Stock and manage laboratory supplies
• Use medical terminology and demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills
• Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Certification & Licensure

• Required: Histology Technician or Histology Technologist Florida License
• Preferred: ASCP certification

Education

• Required: High School diploma or equivalent
• Preferred: Technical degree in Histotechnology or Associate’s in a related field

Experience

• Preferred: 1 year of laboratory experience
