Job summary

Wellstar Health System, Inc. is seeking a Histologic Technologist (PRN, Day shift) at North Fulton with responsibilities including embedding, cutting, staining, and coverslipping of surgical and autopsy tissues.

The role also covers cytology preparation, histochemistry and immunohistochemistry under supervision, with attention to quality control and regulatory compliance. The candidate should have HT(ASCP) certification (or provisional) and at least 1 year of histology experience, ready to work

Qualifications

• HT(ASCP) Histotechnician or HT(ASCP)-P provisional certification within 2 years of hire.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Histologic Technologist.
• Histology training, histochemistry, immunohistochemistry skills and safety/regulatory knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare routine surgical and autopsy tissues including embedding, sectioning and staining.
• Perform immunohistochemistry and histochemistry with automated instruments and troubleshoot as needed.
• Process, embed, section and stain slides; ensure correct patient identification and reporting.
• Verify reports and file the related pathology documents; support clerical tasks as needed.
