Job summary

Firelands Health is seeking a Histologic Technologist for PRN varied hours at our Sandusky, OH location. The role includes processing specimens, assisting with histology procedures, and supporting quality control and upkeep of equipment.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a supportive work environment. Minimum qualifications include an Associate’s Degree with HT/HTL (ASCP) certification and the ability to work mobile, with CPR/BLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher with HT/HTL (ASCP) certification.
• Previous histology experience preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and insurable.

Responsibilities

• Receives patient fluids and processes specimens for cytology.
• Prepares tissues for examination and collects specimens from surgery/physician offices.
• Assists pathologist in tissue evaluation and frozen sections.
• Maintains equipment and records workload and quality control.
• Participates in department performance improvement activities.
