Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL seeks an experienced histocompatibility professional to oversee validation of new instruments and testing methods within the lab. You will lead quality control, ensure maintenance and issue resolution, and perform final sign-off of results.

The role includes training responsibilities in the assigned testing methodology. Requires a Bachelor's in a life sciences field, 5 years histocompatibility experience in an ASHI lab, and CHS certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical science field.
• Five years histocompatibility testing experience in an ASHI accredited lab.
• Currently certified as a Certified Histocompatibility Specialist (CHS) by ACHI.

Responsibilities

• Lead validation of new instruments and/or methods.
• Oversee reagent quality control information and equipment maintenance/issue resolution.
• Perform 2nd review and final sign-off of test results.
• Lead training in assigned testing methodology.
