WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for an experienced UX / UI DESIGNER to join our team and drive the creative direction within the business and projects. You should understand 'big picture' strategic thinking and be able to help conceptualise, problem solve, and manage stakeholder conversations during the initial sales process, client design workshops, and throughout the creative process. All designs should align with the client's business requirements and project objectives.
At Bluegrass, we love and use Figma as our primary design tool, and deep experience with Figma is required. Creating beautiful, modern, and highly creative UI designs is our main focus, supported by our strong UX team.
You will work closely with our Head of Product and Solutions Director.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Minimum of 2+ years' experience in a similar creative software development environment or product team
- Design-related qualifications
- Proven experience with design workshops, interacting with clients and unpacking project requirements and business problems
- Experience structuring Figma projects
- Creating modern UI designs for websites and mobile apps within Figma
- Experience with Google's Material Design system (advantageous)
- Experience implementing a Design System (very advantageous)
- Experience designing corporate branding, logos, and CI guidelines (advantageous)
- Ability to write HTML/CSS (advantageous)
- Experience with JIRA (advantageous)
- Experience with WebFlow (advantageous)
- Ability to design and code HTML mailers (advantageous)
- Creating branding videos and showreels (very advantageous)
- Good interpersonal and communication skills for client interactions
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interact with clients to scope project requirements and propose solutions
- Assist in the sales process with creative pitches
- Use Figma as your primary design tool and support Adobe CC Suite
- Create UX wireframes and prototypes in Figma
- Present UX prototypes and UI designs to clients, explaining solutions
- Stay updated on design trends for digital, web, and mobile experiences
- Design for Mobile Apps (iOS & Android), considering various screen sizes and orientations
- Recommend improvements to internal design processes using Design Systems and learning platforms like uxcel.com
- Master Google's Material Design system and employ its guidelines
- Create corporate branding, logos, and CI style guides
- Assist in theme selection for projects using WebFlow and WordPress
- Use project management tools like JIRA effectively
- Provide design estimates for project planning
- Track time logs accurately daily
- Understanding HTML & CSS is advantageous for functional design solutions
- Support marketing with website content, social media, and case studies
- Assist in award submissions and branding videos
