About the role

The Senior UX Researcher is a key member of the Research Team at Adaptavist, utilizing diverse research methodologies and evaluation tools to inform product development across business units. The team focuses on User Experience and Market Research to foster informed decision-making, discover new market opportunities, assess competitors, guide product development, and refine products to ensure usability and usefulness.

The primary responsibility is to provide actionable insights for product development and promote a user-centered culture. This role supports strategic decisions across multiple products, working closely with senior stakeholders to embed a user-centered, evidence-informed culture. It requires expertise in qualitative and quantitative research, innovation in methods, project structuring aligned with business goals, and effective collaboration to translate research into product roadmap changes. Mentoring junior researchers, enabling stakeholder research, coordinating external resources, and ensuring project timelines are also key responsibilities.

While this position is listed as remote, occasional in-person presence at the Madrid office is required; hence, we are looking for someone near Madrid.

About the team

You will join Adaptavist's global research team of 7 members, operating as a service within Adaptavist through the UX Research Service Desk. Their mission is to help product teams build useful and usable products, promote customer-centricity, synthesize insights to inform business and product decisions, and ensure our products meet customer needs.

What you'll be doing
Working with stakeholders to ensure user-centricity
  • Oversee multiple projects, coordinate stakeholder contributions, and secure resources.
  • Align project goals with business objectives, agreeing on deadlines, budgets, and schedules.
  • Mentor junior researchers and those conducting research to ensure reliable outputs.
  • Assist product managers in articulating product vision for research planning.
  • Integrate research findings into the product roadmap to influence strategic and tactical decisions.
  • Partner with UX designers to deliver actionable insights and serve as the 'voice of the user'.
  • Communicate bandwidth and support project support autonomously.
  • Coordinate third-party research contributions, defining roles clearly.
Delivering research excellence
  • Drive foundational and strategic research aligned with business goals and OKRs.
  • Balance and allocate research resources for progress and quality.
  • Contribute to participant database development and recruitment planning.
  • Create high-quality deliverables that lead to actionable results.
  • Inform multiple product teams and connect research initiatives to guide leadership.
  • Deepen understanding of user needs in specific domains.
  • Develop research programs for ongoing product understanding and development.
  • Participate in team learning initiatives and foster continuous learning.
Promoting an Evidence-Based Decision Culture
  • Similar to the above, focus on strategic research, resource management, and delivering insights that influence decision-making and product development.
What we're looking for
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English.
  • Significant UX research experience, preferably in senior or leadership roles.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with quality and timeliness.
  • Experience aligning research with business objectives and demonstrating ROI.
  • Strong communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Mentoring experience for junior researchers.
  • Deep knowledge of UX research methodologies (qualitative and quantitative).
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate findings effectively.
  • Experience integrating research into product roadmaps and influencing decisions.
  • Leadership skills to inspire teamwork and champion customer-focused research.
  • Experience coordinating stakeholder contributions and securing resources.
  • Experience in fast-paced SaaS environments.
  • Proficiency with tools like Confluence, Jira, and research platforms (Userinterviews, Prolific, Maze, SurveyMonkey).
  • Advanced presentation and storytelling skills for research dissemination.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
  • Advanced data analysis skills, including regression and multivariate testing.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Experience in a technical discipline.
