Senior Systems Engineer

The Extreme Systems Engineer provides technology and product consulting, technical sales support for various account opportunities, and performs high-level technical presentations for customers, prospects, and channel partners within the territory. They also support RFI/RFP responses, organize and lead Proof of Concept activities, and design solutions that meet customer requirements.

The Systems Engineer participates as a specialist on virtual teams and contributes to other team activities. Domestic and international travel will be required.

Candidate Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of the Israeli market
• Excellent presentation skills, fluent in Hebrew and English
• Successful pre-sales engineering track record in the industry and territory
• Fundamental networking technologies knowledge:
• Layer 2/3 switching
• IPv4/v6 routing concepts
• Overlay networking, VPNs
• Wi-Fi operation and design
• Network security principles
• Additional knowledge and practical experience in:
• Cloud technologies and cloud-based network management platforms
• Compute and network virtualization
• Network management and orchestration software
• SD-WAN
• Automation scripting and APIs
• Ability to work on customer project teams for design and PoC labs, setting success criteria, and solution design
• Tenacity and perseverance, advocating for the customer internally
• Ability to build and maintain a network of contacts at the customer/partner side, trusted as an advisor
• Willingness to assume a team-lead role when business growth requires additional resources
• Experience working with partners and technical training on products
• Major account experience and deal-closing experience
• Extreme Networks certifications are desirable but not mandatory
• Recognized industry certifications are a plus
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of future trends and market directions
• Support customer evaluations, demonstrations, and detailed design requirements
• Hands-on lab experience is a plus
