Job description

May 25, 2025 - Nekohealth is hiring a remote Senior Quality Engineer - DevOps. Location: Europe.

Neko Health is a Swedish health-tech company co-founded in 2018 by Hjalmar Nilsonne and Daniel Ek. Our vision is to create a healthcare system that can help people stay healthy through preventive measures and early detection. Neko has developed a new medical scanning technology concept to make it possible to do broad and non-invasive health data collection that is both convenient and affordable for the public. This requires completely reimagining the healthcare experience and incorporating the latest advances in sensors and AI. We are a remote first company, but the company is based in Stockholm and has over 200 employees across Europe.
About the Role
Location: Stockholm, Sweden or Europe | Full-time Remote or Hybrid
At Neko Health, we are developing innovative medical technologies that enhance healthcare outcomes. As a Senior DevOps QA Engineer, you will drive automation, compliance, and integration within our electronic Quality Management System (eQMS). You will work on workflow automation, system validation, API integrations, and cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring compliance while optimizing quality operations.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain eQMS workflows, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  2. Automate quality system procedures using Python, PowerShell, or Bash to reduce manual effort.
  3. Integrate eQMS with enterprise tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, ERP, PLM) via RESTful APIs.
  4. Build automated testing and validation for eQMS configurations to ensure compliance.
  5. Implement GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps Pipelines for automation workflows.
  6. Deploy real-time dashboards and reporting for compliance tracking and quality metrics.
  7. Design practical notifications and alerts to reduce lead time and content switching.
  8. Lead system validation efforts, ensuring CSV (Computer System Validation) compliance.
  9. Maintain audit trails, data integrity, and access controls for regulatory compliance.
  10. Support internal and external audits, ensuring seamless documentation and compliance.
  11. Manage Cloud & Infrastructure Automation in Azure, AWS, or GCP for hosting and optimizing quality data tools.
Requirements:
  1. 5+ years of experience in DevOps QA, QMS automation, or regulated system management within the medical device industry.
  2. Proficient in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for workflow automation and scripting.
  3. Experience with API development and system integrations for enterprise tools.
  4. Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines, or similar CI/CD tools.
  5. Familiarity with Cloud & Infrastructure Automation (Azure, AWS, or GCP) for quality data management.
  6. Strong problem-solving skills and a process optimization mindset.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Nice to Have
  • Experience or knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA QSR (21 CFR 820), and EU MDR in digital environments.
  • Experience with AI/ML-driven automation.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and data integrity in regulated environments.
Why Join Us?
  • At Neko Health, you'll shape the future of digital QMS automation, ensuring compliance while enabling seamless workflows and efficiency.
  • If you’re passionate about QMS automation, DevOps, and cloud-based quality solutions, we’d love to hear from you!
About the Engineering Team
Distributed and Remote First
We are nearly 100 full-time engineers at the company, working from Berlin, Chamonix, Hamburg, Lisbon, Marseille, Vilnius, and Stockholm, spanning diverse disciplines such as Hardware Engineering, Firmware Development, Electrical Design, Algorithm Development, Machine Learning Development, Optronics Research, Frontend Development, and more. We don't expect people to join us with specific tech knowledge, but we do expect you to work with our tools. We use a mix of React, Typescript, C++, and Python. Our APIs are written in C# with ASP.NET Core, use Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure Active Directory for authentication.
Our headquarters and hardware development team are in Stockholm, Sweden.
We are a Remote First company; however, it is easier to work remotely as a software engineer than as a hardware or firmware engineer (since they require occasional access to hardware or devices). Software engineers based in Stockholm typically work one day a week or every two weeks from the office.
We meet a few times per year for team building and fun.
Organization and Way of Working
The engineering team is divided into smaller cross-functional project teams focusing on specific goals. Some groups are long-lived, others are short-lived, depending on the project scope. We aim to create teams that are cross-functional and capable of achieving their goals independently, although this is not always possible.
Goals are tracked on a yearly and quarterly basis, with bi-weekly follow-ups across the engineering organization. Most groups plan internally on a bi-weekly basis, but teams decide their workflow. We have a mandatory bi-weekly engineering demo where teams present progress, challenges, or hacks, fostering a culture of transparency and innovation.
We offer a flexible workplace that emphasizes work/life balance, and we believe in our mission without sacrificing everything else.
