Job description

Apr 19, 2025 - Iterable is hiring a remote Senior Product Designer - Design System, Craft. Salary: $138,500 - $213,000. Location: USA.

Iterable is the leading AI-powered customer engagement platform that helps leading brands like Redfin, SeatGeek, Priceline, Calm, and Box create dynamic, individualized experiences at scale. Our platform empowers organizations to activate customer data, design seamless cross-channel interactions, and optimize engagement—all with enterprise-grade security and compliance.

Our success is powered by extraordinary people who bring our core values—Trust, Growth Mindset, Balance, and Humility—to life. We foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and inclusion, where ideas are valued and individuals are empowered to do their best work.

How you will make an impact:

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to take a dual focus: leading the continued evolution of our Aurora design system and raising the bar for craft and quality across our product design team.

Aurora is already a mature, well-adopted system with thoughtfully crafted components (and even a workflow to push token changes from Figma to GitHub!) Your role will be to build on this solid foundation: shaping the future of the system, driving adoption, and ensuring it scales as our product grows.

At the same time, you’ll champion design excellence by providing guidance, sharing best practices, and helping designers deliver thoughtful, polished, and accessible experiences. You’ll collaborate closely with designers, engineers, and product teams to ensure scalable, high-quality design work while serving as a multiplier across the organization.

You’ll get to:

  • Elevate design standards across the team, providing feedback and insights that foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Engage in all facets of design system work, from architecting components and patterns in Figma, to writing guidelines, driving adoption, and partnering with engineering on implementation, prioritization, and strategy.
  • Collaborate with designers and engineers to ensure the system scales effectively and meets the diverse needs of our product.
  • Audit product surfaces to identify inconsistencies and quality gaps, then work with teams to drive pragmatic, high-impact improvements.
  • Create tools, documentation, and resources that help designers and engineers do their best work.
  • Champion visual and interaction polish across the product experience, ensuring every detail feels refined.
  • Mentor and support other designers, helping them strengthen their craft and apply systems thinking in their day-to-day work.

We are looking for people who have:

  • Strong organizational skills, with a track record of leading projects with precision and efficiency.
  • Excellence in asynchronous communication, able to articulate ideas clearly and collaborate effectively across distributed teams and time zones.
  • 6+ years of experience in product design, with a proven ability to build and evolve design systems at scale.
  • Expertise with all of the latest and greatest technologies for component architecture in Figma: props, variables and modes, branching, slot components, etc.
  • Strong visual design sensibilities, with an eye for detail and a portfolio that demonstrates craft and quality.
  • Experience working closely with engineers and contributing to component development.
  • A balanced approach to systemization, knowing when to standardize and when to allow flexibility.
  • A multiplier mindset, actively mentoring, creating patterns, and improving documentation to level up the entire team.
  • Strategic thinking with tactical execution, able to drive meaningful change while keeping a pragmatic, hands-on approach.
  • Deep understanding of accessibility and inclusive design best practices.
  • Experience with conventional design system tooling, like Figma Code Connect, Storybook, and Design System Managers (e.g., Supernova, Zeroheight)

Bonus Points:

  • Previous experience in B2B or SaaS products with complex UI needs.
  • Ability to write HTML, CSS, and React to better partner with engineering and prototype functional concepts, or even contribute your own changes for quality refinement.
  • Exposure to advanced prototyping techniques and tooling (e.g. Framer, ProtoPie, custom code prototypes, Replit) to explore high-fidelity interactions or validate complex workflows.

Perks & Benefits:

  • Paid parental leave
  • Competitive salaries, meaningful equity, & 401(k) plan
  • Medical, dental, vision, & life insurance
  • Balance Days (additional paid holidays)
  • Fertility & Adoption Assistance
  • Paid Sabbatical
  • Flexible PTO
  • Monthly Employee Wellness allowance
  • Monthly Professional Development allowance
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits
  • Complete laptop workstation
