Qualifications

As a Senior IT Support Specialist, you will provide autonomous, expert-level support and administration across Aker’s core IT platforms—including Microsoft 365, Azure AD, AWS and be solely responsible for final escalations for technical issues. You will play a key role in operational security, infrastructure health, and service delivery while helping to shape the future of Aker’s internal IT support and governance capabilities. You will collaborate proactively at a strategic level with IT leadership, Product teams, and end users to ensure Aker’s Corporate IT is performing to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

System Administration & Platform Support

  • Lead administration and configuration of Microsoft 365 (Exchange online, Outlook, SharePoint, Intune, Teams, OneDrive, Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Take strategic ownership of user and group identity management via Azure Active Directory and AWS IAM
  • Be accountable formaintaining and optimizing the operational health, performance, and security of SharePoint Online environments
  • Take ownership of the administration and governance of internal platforms such as JIRA and Confluence
  • Implement application deployment, integration and decommissioning of IT services
  • Take ownership of Aker’s remote support and configuration tools, including Apple Business Manager, Mobile Device Manager, Zscaler

Technical Escalation & Incident Response

  • Act as the primary point of escalation for complex IT issues across endpoints, cloud services, and networks
  • Troubleshoot and resolve OS, network, and storage-related problems across Windows and MacOS systems
  • Manage system patching, updates, security and compliance configuration policy
  • Independently conduct root cause analysis and continuous improvement of recurring technical issues

Security, Maintenance & Compliance

  • Independently lead the implementation and enforcement of BYOD policies, VPN configurations, and endpoint protection
  • Monitor system usage, audit logs, and quota settings; produce performance and compliance reports
  • Independently manage IT controls and be accountable for compliance with ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, and NIST frameworks

Training, Enablement & Documentation

  • Independently deliver onboarding and continuous training, strategic enablement and mentoring of internal users, and technical documentation and internal knowledge base articles across M365 and collaboration tools

Essential Experience & Competencies

  • 7+ years of IT support and systems administration experience
  • Strongproficiency with Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Intune OneDrive, Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Strong proficiency with Azure Active Directory and AWS user/admin management
  • Microsoft Windows and macOS environments
  • Powershell and Graph API
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals: VPN, IP, DNS, SMTP
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize in a high-demand environment
  • Have experience in providing strategic input to an IT maturity plan

Essential Certifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
  • Microsoft Certified: MS-900 and/or AZ-900
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
