About the Role

Fullscript is looking for an experienced Senior Ruby Engineer to build a platform that creates rich, stable, and compelling experiences for our users. Our team values quality, developer experience, and continuous learning. We host in-house training on topics from React to Kubernetes. Fullscript encourages learning, mentoring, and growth.

Our platform is built with Ruby on Rails. Our Ruby Engineers develop and maintain our internal GraphQL API, working closely with front-end engineers to enhance functionality. The front-end uses React, TypeScript, and Apollo to deliver top-tier user experiences.

Responsibilities

1. Plan solution design
2. Implement business logic for our core e-commerce platform
3. Build and maintain integrations with external services such as Stripe, Avatax, and ERP systems
4. Develop internal APIs for other teams
5. Address performance issues
6. Contribute to technical improvements and uphold quality standards
7. Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers

Qualifications

• Passionate about software engineering, eager to learn, lead, and produce high-quality work
• Experience with Ruby or Ruby on Rails
• Proficient in writing tests and understanding their importance
• Open to feedback and continuous learning
• Knowledge of design patterns and clean code principles
• Experience mentoring or coaching junior engineers
• Comfortable working in a full-stack team environment

Bonus Skills

• Experience scaling high-scale web applications
• Knowledge of Elasticsearch, Opensearch, or other search technologies
• Background in e-commerce or health-tech sectors
• Experience with React or other front-end technologies
• Familiarity with GraphQL
