Summary

As a Sr. Compensation Analyst at Hummingbird, you will play a key role in ensuring compensation practices are fair, competitive, and compliant with internal policies and external regulations. Your work will promote equity, transparency, and long-term employee success by supporting compensation structures that are sustainable, clearly communicated, and aligned with both organizational needs and employee well-being. Acting as a program owner and trusted partner to the business, you will support the delivery and evolution of compensation programs, advise managers on pay decisions, and ensure practices reflect Hummingbird’s values and meet legal and regulatory standards. To support Hummingbird’s continued growth, you will also assess and align compensation structures for incoming team members from partner organizations, ensuring consistency and compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Employment Eligibility: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • FLSA Status: Exempt
  • Compensation: $104,000 - $127,250 based on experience.
  • Benefits Eligible: Yes.
  • Travel: 1-2 trips per year for company events and training.
  • Working Hours: Alignment with client work hours within the US.
  • Work Location: This position is remote. You must work from a location within the United States with consistent internet service.
Key Duties
  • Benchmarking & Analysis: Determine appropriate job levels, FLSA status, and compensation grades; conduct market analysis; support pay decisions; develop recommendations.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Alignment: Monitor and apply relevant laws; conduct audits; maintain documentation; stay informed on labor regulations.
  • Program Development & Support: Assist in designing compensation programs; support integration of new teams; document decisions; ensure equity and consistency.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate on refining compensation processes; support new programs; create documentation; partner with stakeholders.
Skills & Experience

Required: 5+ years in compensation analysis or related HR field, strong analytical skills, knowledge of laws like FLSA, excellent communication, detail-oriented, collaborative. Familiarity with HRIS systems, especially Workday, and advanced Excel skills.

Desired: Experience in start-up environments, CCP certification, M&A experience, familiarity with executive compensation, project management skills.
