Job summary

Zehnder Rittling in Buffalo, NY is seeking a reliable Punch Press Machine Operator for our turret line on the second shift (10 hours, 4:00 pm–2:30 am). Responsible for set-up, operation, and quality checks to prepare material per customer specifications.

You will review job orders, adjust tooling and programs, perform first piece inspections, and deliver punched parts to the next operation while maintaining safe, efficient production.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year similar work experience.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with small hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Reviews job orders to determine customer specifications.
• Sets up turret; operates machine and resets to zero.
• Modifies programs and sets tooling to meet specs.

Now Hiring a PUNCH PRESS MACHINE OPERATOR FOR OUR TURRET MACHINE - SECOND SHIFT 10 Hour Shift Evening/Nights

Responsible for set-up and operation of turret equipment to punch and prepare material for job orders consistent with customer requirements.

We are looking for a detail oriented, fast paced individual who are comfortable working 10 hours a day.

• 40 hours per week or more
• 4:00 pm - 2:30 am Monday through Thursday
• Shift Differential
• Overtime required (when needed)
• Friday 4:00 pm to 2:30 am (10 hours)
• Saturday 11:30 am to 5:30 pm (6 hours)

Position Summary

Responsible for set-up and operation of turret equipment to punch and prepare material for job orders consistent with customer requirements.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Reviews job orders to determine customer specifications.
• Sets up turret. Turn on machine, water power, hydraulic. Reset machine to zero (bring it home)
• Modifies computer programs to meet job specifications on a regular basis.
• Sets up tooling specifications.
• Performs incoming inspection on sheared material prior to punching. (Material that does not meet specifications should be documented via "blue sheet". Obtains clearance from Leadperson or Management prior to continuing with job if problems identified.)
• Operates turret, working at an appropriate tempo to meet production quantities and also maintains quality standards.
• Performs first piece inspection on newly punched material to ensure equipment is properly set to produce required quality standards.
• Delivers finished product (punched) to next operation within cell.
• Orders tooling parts through communication with CAD as needed.
• Works as part of the team and continuously seeks to identify and eliminate non-value added processes and waste.
• Works in a safe manner, utilizing all required personal protective equipment.
• Assist in all other areas of cell. Maintain flexibility to transfer to other cells to assist when needed.

Education And/or Experience

• HS Diploma/Equivalent
• Minimum 1 year similar work experience desired.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with small hand tools.

Must be dependable and have reliable transportation.
