Job summary

i.g. Burton Auto Group in Dover, DE is seeking a Pre-Owned Vehicle Technician to perform multipoint inspections, communicate service needs to advisors, and service vehicles to meet quality standards.

The role requires inspecting fluids, tires and driveline components, lubricating moving parts, replacing filters, maintaining oil and coolant levels, and following all dealership safety procedures and company policies to ensure safe, reliable and compliant vehicle service for our customers.

Qualifications

• Must meet dealership requirements for employment.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
• Familiarity with automotive repair and maintenance.
• Valid driver license and ability to operate manual transmissions.
• Experience as technician's helper or apprentice preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform multipoint inspections.
• Communicate additional service/repair needs to service advisors.
• Service universal joints, grease fittings, and steering knuckles using hand- or compressed-air powered grease guns.
• Inspect fluid levels in steering gears, power steering reservoirs, transmissions, differentials, rear axle housings and shackles.
• Check tire pressure.
• Lubricate moving parts with specified lubricants.
• Drain oil from crankcase and refill with required amount of oil.
• Add water to radiator and battery.
• Replace oil and air filters.
• Inspect all vehicles for additional repairs.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety standards and codes of conduct.
• Follow dealership safety procedures to avoid exposure to fumes, dirt and harsh chemicals.
