May 09, 2025 - Ambient Enterprises is hiring a remote Payroll Coordinator. Salary: $65,000 - $70,000 annually. Location: USA.

Role: Payroll Coordinator

As Ambient’s Payroll Coordinator, you will assist with our company’s payroll system and oversee the Time & Labor system. You will help with maintaining and updating payroll records, preparing reports, and providing information to employees on payroll matters. You should be able to ensure the efficient, accurate, confidential, and timely processing of employee checks. This role will report to the Director of Payroll and can be remote, though the ability to work East Coast hours is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Processing payroll: Responsible for processing timesheets, updating payroll records and answering employee questions about payments
  • Adherence to payroll policies: Review payroll procedures and provide guidance to employees on the specifics of those policies.
  • Compliance: Ensure all payroll transactions comply with employment standards.
  • Record-keeping: Maintain accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions.
  • Reporting: Prepare and distribute payroll reports to managers and stakeholders.
  • Issue resolution: Resolve any payroll discrepancies or issues.
  • Tax forms: Assist in employee tax forms, such as W-2s.
  • Coordination with HR: Work closely with HR regarding changes in payroll (e.g. terminations, new hires)
  • Audits: Conduct audits and verifications of payroll records.
  • Employee support: Answer employee questions and concerns regarding payroll.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a payroll coordinator or similar role.
  • Familiarity with payroll processes and software, recommended experience, Paylocity, but not required
  • Good knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., Federal and State Labor Laws).
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills and comfortable with Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Diploma/BSc/BA in accounting, finance, or a relevant field.

Estimated Salary:
$65,000 - $70,000 annually, with flexibility based on experience and skills.
