Job Summary

The Patient Care Technician performs tasks supportive to delivery of patient care in assigned departments under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. The Patient Care Technician is a key member of the CAC highly trained nursing team providing excellent patient care and exceptional customer service. Some PCT responsibilities include:

  • Taking vitals
  • Collecting blood sugars
  • Documentation of activities
  • Assist patients with toileting and hygiene
  • Assist patient with meals
  • Assist patients with ambulation at times
  • Accurate account of intakes and outputs.

The patient care technician must be versatile and willing to play their part in a teamwork dynamic.

Patient Population

Patients with a primary cardiac diagnosis requiring complex nursing care including but not limited to:

  • Continuous cardiac monitoring
  • Acute cardiac arrythmias
  • Acute chest pain
  • Cardiac Medication and Cardiac Drips management
  • Acute Myocardial Infarction
  • Advanced groin management
  • Post PFO Closure
  • Pre/Post cardiac catheterization including stents and balloon angioplasty
  • Post Micra pacemaker implantation
  • Pre/Post Cardiac procedures including Pacemaker implantation, cardioversion, ablations, transesophageal echocardiograms
  • TAVR Procedure
  • Pre/post Interventional Radiology procedures with groin access
  • Atrial fibrillation/flutter ablation
  • Left atrial appendage closure device (Watchman, Amulet)

Required Qualifications

Require one of the following:

  1. Florida licensure as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic, or a military Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic Specialist, or Aerospace Medical Service Specialist; or National licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); which must be maintained active during employment; or
  2. Nursing students who are eligible for CNA exam are required to: a.) currently be enrolled in or a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (RN/LPN); b.) if enrolled, have completed the first semester of clinical for ASN/BSN degree or completion of first trimester for LPN; and c.) cannot be currently licensed in the U.S. as a RN or LPN; or
  3. Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification: Provide certification of successful completion of a Florida State Board approved program and successfully obtain a Florida CNA license within 120 days of graduation. **Employees hired without the above licensure and/or by years of experience only prior to 11/11/19, are grandfathered in and will have the option of obtaining the stipulated licensure.


Preferred Qualifications

Prefer working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.

Day Shift: 7:00 am-7:30 pm

Full Time is 3 Days a week

Night Shift: 7:00 pm-7:30 am
