Job Description

We're looking for advanced Diesel Technicians with at least 3 years of experience in the Heavy Class 8 Mechanical Industry (or similar industry) to build an exciting career at Carvana - the fastest-growing used automotive retailer in U.S. history and one of the four fastest companies to make the Fortune 500! As a member of the Fleet Maintenance team, you'll play a key role in helping deliver happiness to our customers by ensuring all preventative maintenance and general repairs are completed on our vehicle haulers and trailers in a timely manner and up to Carvana standards.   • Pay Range: $29-$35/hr

We're seeking motivated team players with at least 3 years of experience working with heavy equipment to:

  • Diagnose (using diagnostic equipment) and perform general, preventative maintenance, and DVIR on heavy equipment.
  • Perform scheduled repairs and resolve issues found during inspections, including brake changes, steering adjustments, parts replacement, electrical repairs, hydraulic work, and tire changes per TIA guidelines.
  • Use welding tools, torches, and plasma cutters for fabrication and repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of all repairs using our software, including parts records.
  • Use diagnostic tools to pull fault codes and follow OEM diagnose trees for accurate diagnostics.

General qualifications and requirements include:

  • 3+ years experience in Heavy Class 8 Mechanical Industry or similar.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Obtain at least two ASE Certifications within the first 6 months (process sponsored by Carvana).
  • Own tools to perform daily tasks; specialty tools provided by Carvana.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, stooping, pushing, and pulling in environments that may be hot, cold, noisy, or wet, with fumes or odors.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds for up to 20 feet.
  • Effective communication and interaction skills in a professional manner.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Clear and concise written and oral communication skills.
