The Math Content Writer will be responsible for writing new math lessons and editing existing curriculum to meet state-specific standards within the Kiddom digital platform. The candidate will be responsible for writing teacher-facing lesson plans and designing student-facing digital materials that are also suitable for print.

We’re looking for someone who has a background in teaching elementary, middle, or high school math and who has written or developed a math curriculum.

This is a short-term contract position with a 15-hour/week minimum.

You will...

1. Write high-quality, unique math lessons for kindergarten through Algebra 2 given specific state standards and a predefined scope and sequence.
2. Manually author/edit interactive question types using the digital Kiddom platform.
3. Work with project managers to ensure that submitted work meets specified requirements.
4. Respond to constructive feedback and make any necessary edits to submitted work.
5. Provide daily updates on assigned tasks.
6. Perform other tasks as needed to meet project deadlines and deliverables.

What we're looking for...

1. Experience writing K-12 math lessons, tasks, teacher notes, and other supporting or supplemental materials.
2. At least 3 years of teaching experience in mathematics.
3. Availability to commit 40 hours per week to this project.
4. K-5 writers must have experience with using manipulatives in the classroom (digital manipulatives are a plus).
5. High school level writers must have experience and knowledge of Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, and some statistics.
6. Familiarity with Common Core Math standards and experience working with state-specific standards.
7. An understanding of student-centered, problem-based classrooms and lessons.
8. Experience teaching the Illustrative Mathematics curriculum is a plus!
9. Experience using technology to enhance mathematics instruction.
10. Keen attention to detail; welcomes feedback and constructive criticism on writing.

Hourly rate or salary is dependent on geography, past experience, seniority, and demonstrated role-related ability during the interview process.
