Role Description

This role involves providing first-line communication with patients, referral sources, and clinicians to facilitate the ordering and delivery of durable medical equipment (DME) products, supplies, and services.

  1. Ensure all patient information is processed timely and accurately to enhance patient satisfaction and optimize revenue.
  2. Receive inquiries and orders by telephone, fax, and email.
  3. Gather all necessary documentation related to payer requirements, standard operating procedures, and compliance programs.
  4. Communicate with clinical staff and referral sources regarding documentation deficiencies to meet coverage criteria.
  5. Request needed documentation via email, messaging, phone calls, or other methods.
  6. Resolve customer concerns, questions, and complaints regarding orders or refer to clinical staff if unable to resolve.
  7. Anticipate patient needs for equipment setup or supplies delivery and respond promptly to complete the intake process.
  8. Create new patient accounts in the system, entering demographic, physician, and insurance information accurately.
  9. Obtain medical records, verify insurance, log prior authorizations and prescriptions, and initiate ABN as needed.
  10. Log all intake information in the patient account.
  11. Notify clinical staff when intake is complete.
