Aerotek is hiring a Forklift Operator for a contract-to-hire role in Bolingbrook, IL. The warehouse position supports distribution and manufacturing operations, emphasizing safe operation of stand-up reach trucks, material handling, and efficient pallet loading/unloading.

The Warehouse Worker supports daily operations in a distribution or manufacturing environment by safely operating stand-up reach trucks and forklifts, handling materials, and performing general warehouse duties. This role focuses on efficient loading, unloading, organizing, wrapping, labeling, and staging pallets for shipping while maintaining accurate inventory and contributing to a smooth, high-volume workflow.
Operate stand-up reach trucks and forklifts safely to move, load, and unload materials throughout the warehouse.
Wrap and label pallets accurately and prepare them to be staged for shipping according to established procedures.
Perform general warehouse duties, including production support, general labor, and material handling tasks.
Load and unload trucks, carts, and other delivery vehicles from multiple areas within the facility.
Pick and put away goods in designated locations, ensuring proper organization and efficient use of warehouse space.
Use pallet jacks and other material handling equipment to move products and supplies as needed.
Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including checking incoming and outgoing materials and preparing orders for dispatch.
Support unloading and moving materials to appropriate storage or staging areas.
Perform order picking and packaging tasks to meet customer and production requirements.
Contribute to inventory-related activities by helping maintain accurate counts and proper stock placement.
Collaborate with team members and assist others with their duties when required to meet operational goals.
Follow all safety guidelines and operational procedures to maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
At least 2 years of warehouse experience, preferable in a high-volume environment.
3+ years of experience working in a distribution or manufacturing site.
Proficiency operating stand-up reach trucks and forklifts in a warehouse setting.
Experience with general warehouse duties, including production support and general labor.
Strong material handling skills, including loading, unloading, and moving goods safely and efficiently.
Ability to wrap and label pallets accurately and prepare them for shipping.
Experience with pallet jacks and other standard warehouse equipment.
Background in shipping and receiving processes and procedures.
Ability to perform order picking and packaging tasks with attention to detail.
Capability to put away goods and maintain organized storage locations.
Reliability in supporting inventory activities and handling materials in a structured environment.
Experience working across multiple warehouse areas, including loading docks and staging zones.
Comfort working in both distribution and manufacturing environments.
Ability to work collaboratively and assist team members with various duties when needed.
Strong work ethic and willingness to perform a variety of general labor and production support tasks.
Basic understanding of warehouse workflow and shipping documentation processes.

The role is based in a busy warehouse environment that supports distribution and manufacturing operations. Team members work on structured shifts, including a swing first shift from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime available after the scheduled shift, and a second shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Work involves frequent use of stand-up reach trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment, as well as regular loading, unloading, and movement of goods across multiple areas of the facility. The environment is fast-paced and production-oriented, requiring adherence to safety protocols and appropriate warehouse attire suitable for operating equipment and performing physical tasks.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bolingbrook, IL.
The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $22.50/hr.
