Apr 17, 2025 - Clearco is hiring a remote Director of Finance. Salary: competitive salary and incentives. Location: USA, Canada.

Clearco is the non-dilutive working capital solution for e-commerce businesses in the United States. Clearco’s unique Invoice Funding product allows companies to access funding for invoices and receipts for inventory, marketing expenses, shipping, and logistics. Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Director of Finance to lead our financial reporting and oversee tax, payroll, and accounts payables. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading teams in a dynamic environment and managing audits.

Core Responsibilities
Lead Controllership Function
  1. Oversee the month-end close process ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the US GAAP financial statements.

  2. Manage the preparation and dissemination of internal and external financial reports, including monthly financial statements, variance analysis, management reports and annual audits.

  3. Serve as the key liaison and collaborate with external auditors to ensure smooth and timely financial statement audits.

  4. Design, implement and maintain effective internal controls for operational processes.

  5. Lead process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency and reporting capabilities of the Finance team.

  6. Prepare budget variance reporting and assist in the annual budgeting process.

  7. Oversee accounts payable function to ensure timely payment of vendor invoices.

Oversee Tax Function
  1. Work closely with external tax partners to ensure multi-country tax compliance, including income tax, VAT/GST, federal and state filings, and other regulatory filings.

  2. Prepare quarterly tax installment estimates and payments.

Oversee Payroll Function
  1. Work cross-functionally with the Sales team and People team to ensure commissions, bonuses, salaries, reimbursements and other payroll records are accurate and pay runs are completed on time.

Qualifications:
  1. 6+ years of progressive experience in accounting, controllership, and financial analysis within complex business environments, including demonstrated leadership of cross-functional teams and a strong track record of implementing and overseeing robust financial management controls.

  2. Proven experience preparing financial statements and associated notes disclosures and managing external auditor(s).

  3. Demonstrated understanding of Canadian and US corporate and partnership tax requirements.

  4. Experience in specialty finance, fintech, e-commerce, or SaaS companies preferred.

  5. CPA title desired.

Nice to haves:
  1. Experience with Sage.

  2. Knowledge of GP/LP fund structures.

  3. Understanding of ABF Facilities.
