About the Role
Job Title: Director of Engineering (Hands On )
Reports to: CTO
Location: Denmark (Copenhagen area preferred) – Fully Remote
Job Type: Full-time
Compensation: 70-90.000 DKK / month
About You:
You are a seasoned engineer who still loves to dive into code, design scalable architecture, and solve tough technical challenges
You move fast but care deeply about quality, security, and the people behind the code.
You take a hands-on approach to leadership, removing blockers and optimizing workflows to keep teams shipping efficiently.
You enjoy working across the tech stack and bring a deep understanding of distributed systems and scalable cloud applications
You’ve built and led high-performing engineering teams and you foster a culture of ownership, learning and kindness
️ You enjoy evolving technical architecture to support product growth, performance, and security.
You collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, aligning technical execution with company objectives.
What You’ll Do
Lead and grow the engineering team (currently 10+ team members), with a strong focus on both technical and human development
Oversee the architecture of our platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and security as we grow.
Write and review production-ready code across our stack (Node.js, Vue 3, Quasar, GCP/Firebase)
Implement engineering best practices, balancing delivery speed and quality in a fast-moving environment.
Work closely with leadership in Product, Design, and Business teams to align technical efforts with company strategy.
Foster a culture of high-quality engineering, maintaining a scalable, reliable, and maintainable system
What You Bring
Proven software engineering experience with deep architectural knowledge and hands-on coaching skills
A track record of designing, building, and scaling cloud-native systems
Strong coding ability in JavaScript/TypeScript and experience with tools like Node.js, Vue, and CI/CD pipelines
A strong voice in technical direction with a balanced, collaborative, team-first approach
Experience mentoring engineers and leading distributed teams in a fast-paced environment!
