May 19, 2025 - Beter is hiring a remote DevOps Engineer. Location: Poland.

Product company BETER announces a vacancy for a DevOps Engineer to develop and maintain infrastructure using modern technologies and practices. If you are interested in developing and automating infrastructure based on Terraform, managing containers with Kubernetes (especially AWS EKS), writing Helm charts, programming in Python, and using GitOps and GitLab CI, then this position is for you.

Necessary skills and requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role;
  • Experience in infrastructure development and management using Terraform;
  • Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, particularly AWS EKS, and the ability to work with Helm charts;
  • Proficiency in Python for automation and DevOps tool development;
  • Experience with GitOps and CI/CD pipelines based on GitLab;
  • Knowledge of tools such as ELK, Prometheus, and Grafana for monitoring and analysis;
  • Ability to develop and maintain DevOps standards to improve infrastructure efficiency and reliability.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with other infrastructure as code tools like Ansible or Puppet;
  • Experience with distributed tracing systems such as Jaeger or Zipkin;
  • Knowledge of Operator Lifecycle Manager;
  • Experience with Elasticsearch Index Lifecycle Management and Data Tiers;
  • Experience developing and maintaining microservices in AWS;
  • Knowledge of additional programming languages for automation;
  • Experience working with containers, databases, and AWS services;
  • Higher technical education or equivalent work experience;
  • Curiosity and critical thinking to continually improve processes.

Duties:

  • Infrastructure development, configuration, and support using Terraform;
  • Management and orchestration of containers with Kubernetes (AWS EKS) and Helm charts;
  • Development and support of automation tools for deployment and monitoring;
  • Implementation and development of GitOps standards and CI/CD processes with GitLab;
  • Configuration of logging and monitoring systems based on ELK, Victoria Metrics, and Grafana;
  • Participation in improving infrastructure and development processes;
  • Development and implementation of distributed tracing systems like Jaeger or Zipkin, if necessary;
  • Assistance in identifying bottlenecks and performance issues, profiling database requests, or message brokers.

Team technologies and workflows:

  • Programming languages: .NET Core, PHP, Node.js, Python;
  • Containerization and orchestration: Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes (AWS EKS), Helm;
  • Cloud services: AWS (S3, RDS, EC2, etc.);
  • Monitoring and analytics: ELK, Victoria Metrics, Grafana;
  • Version control and CI/CD: GitLab CI;
  • Databases: Redis Sentinel, MongoDB, ClickHouse;
  • Message queues: Kafka (MSK);
  • Infrastructure as Code tools: Terraform, Ansible, Helm, OLM;
  • Note: GitOps implementation is upcoming.
