Job Summary

We are seeking a Data Engineer to help elevate our understanding of our data to the next level. This role requires a balance of technical expertise and leadership skills. You will join a small team focused on enabling our business to make strong decisions based on data, and help our customers understand how their products perform on our platform. You will have the opportunity to set the future direction of our team by investing in new technologies and expanding our data warehouse. Success in this role depends on owning problems from discovery through development and establishing new patterns for future success.

Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Effectively communicate complex business activities, technical requirements, and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Own our data infrastructure to ensure reliable access to high-quality data for our business and clients
  • Build data pipelines connecting our platform with customer catalogs, logistics partners, and external platforms
  • Identify opportunities to enhance our data capabilities with new technologies and tools
  • Contribute to developing the engineering roadmap for our data stack
  • Assess and evaluate AI/ML tools to determine their value to our business
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of professional experience
  • Experience with early-stage startups and developing new data capabilities
  • Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with dbt projects
  • Experience designing and maintaining API data pipelines and integrations
  • Background as a full-stack engineer with understanding of database schema impacts
  • Knowledge of machine learning technologies and large language models
  • Understanding of data challenges faced by eCommerce platforms and experience building relevant data models
