Role Overview

As an editor within a vertical, you will collaborate with content creators to produce high-quality products on schedule, aligned with the publishing plan. You will oversee product quality from initial idea to publication, ensuring adherence to guidelines, depth, and audience suitability. The role requires critical thinking, excellent English skills, and a coaching approach to help content creators develop engaging technical content.

The editor will also work on different product types, such as derived products or new offerings based on market research, requiring deep market understanding and customer feedback integration. Flexibility and adaptability are crucial as the publishing landscape evolves with AI, self-publishing, and multi-format options.

Responsibilities

1. Editorial:
   • Evaluate and improve ideas, outlines, and content based on reviews and user insights.
   • Onboard and provide feedback to content creators.
   • Assess content health and ensure it meets standards.
   • Identify improvements in organization, clarity, and value.
   • Make substantive edits for structure, language, and style.
   • Conduct user research and market analysis.
   • Coordinate with technical reviewers for accuracy.
   • Own product quality, sign-off, and manage plagiarism issues.
   • Balance quality and timeliness in collaboration with the team.
2. Author/Expert Management:
   • Provide constructive feedback to authors.
   • Build positive relationships and coach authors.
   • Manage author relationships to enhance content quality and satisfaction.
3. Technology:
   • Research and stay updated on technological innovations.
   • Engage with users and market trends.
   • Monitor market changes affecting products.
