Apr 19, 2025 - Gimmal is hiring a remote Associate Site Reliability Engineer. Salary: $85,000 to $92,000 a year. Location: USA.

As an Associate Site Reliability Engineer, you specialize in designing, building, and maintaining our production services. You will partner with our development teams to collaborate on different technology stacks. You will drive release management and monitoring solutions to ensure our production services are meeting SLAs.

If so, we are looking for a motivated and driven person like you who has:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

Experience with:

  • Cloud infrastructure architecture and principles
  • Azure DevOps build and release pipelines or equivalent
  • AzureSQL Database, Cosmos DB, or equivalent
  • ElasticSearch, Azure Search, or equivalent
  • Azure Cloud Services, App Services or equivalent
  • Azure Service Bus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Bonus points if you’re bringing knowledge of or really want to learn the following:

  • Kubernetes
  • Infrastructure-as-code
  • YAML Docker Containers
  • Agile & SCRUM methodologies
  • Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (Release Management)
  • Identity Management / SSO
  • SOC 2, ISO 9001:2015, and FedRAMP

We do not want you to make the leap without knowing what we need, so here is how we define success for this position:

Be responsible for a production cloud service:

  • Optimize the cloud services’ cost/capacity ratios, monitor, scale, implement and validate their disaster recovery and business continuity scenarios.
  • Respond to external support requests relevant to the current cloud architecture; for example, maintain, document, and support the public IPs of the cloud service.
  • Develop effective cloud infrastructure, enforce good architectural principles, provide technical oversight, and ensure security best practices are implemented and followed.
  • Develop infrastructure as code on Azure using best practices and implementations across all environments from dev to production.
  • Ensure regional redundancy of web applications within the budget.
  • Support Gimmal’s adherence to operational compliance requirements.

Be a team player:

  • Work with development teams to design, create, and implement infrastructure for new products and features for the Gimmal portfolio.
  • Aid in reviewing design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables.
  • When necessary, work nights or weekends to perform deployments and maintenance operations.
