Job Description

We deliver the goods: Qualified applicants will be trained as a Driver Assistant and will perform that role for at least 3 months before enrolling in a CDL program. The position involves learning freight hauling and operating tractor trailers, assisting driver trainers, and maintaining safety and compliance standards.

Position Purpose

Delivery drivers are vital to the food supply chain, ensuring timely and safe delivery of products while building customer relationships. This entry-level role involves assisting with deliveries, safety checks, and gaining experience in trucking operations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Performing Driver Assistant duties, obtaining a CDL permit within 3 months, and cross-training in warehouse and sales.
  • Training to obtain Class A CDL and completing required programs.
  • Assisting with deliveries, safety inspections, documentation, and customer interactions.
  • Adhering to DOT regulations and company safety policies.
  • Performing vehicle checks, loading/unloading, and maintaining logs.
  • Completing other duties as assigned.

*After 3 months, candidates will be enrolled in an accredited CDL class and remain employed as Driver Assistants until licensed.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • For internal candidates: 6 months of good standing service and ability to attain CDL permit and DOT health card.
  • For external hires: 0-6 months of CDL permit experience or valid driver’s license with ability to obtain permit.
  • Clean MVR, pass drug and background checks, and road test.
  • Valid DOT health card or ability to secure one.
  • Flexible hours during training.
Compensation

$20.00 per hour.
