Job summary

Aptiv Interconnect in Dayville, CT is hiring a Hi-Pot / Respool Operator for the first shift (8:00 am – 4:00 pm). You will operate hi-pot and respool equipment, record quality data, and ensure reels are properly packaged and labeled for shipment.

The role demands attention to manufacturing specifications and teamwork on the production floor. Qualifications include strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with in-process testing, and the ability to work overtime.

Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Hi-Pot / Respool Operator on the first shift (8:00 am - 4:00 pm) The hi-pot operator is responsible for operating various hi-pot equipment to verify the products meet established quality standards. Responsibilities include accurately recording all relevant quality data, properly packaging and labeling reels for final shipment to the end customer, and maintaining a strong awareness of quality issues and deviations. A thorough understanding of manufacturing specifications is essential. The position also requires the ability to operate respool equipment and a willingness to perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager.

Leadership & Core Responsibilities

Equipment Operation & Quality Testing

• Operate various hi-pot equipment and respool equipment to verify products meet established quality standards.
• Accurately record all relevant quality data, maintain awareness of quality issues and deviations, and perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
• Properly package and label reels for final shipment to the end customer.
• Follow all safety rules and report unsafe situations or equipment immediately.
• Maintain professional and collaborative interpersonal communications

Position Requirements:

Education & Technical Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn and operate multiple machines
• Knowledgeable with in-process testing procedures for manufacturing
• Excellent time management skills to meet production demands efficiently
• Extremely detail oriented
• Self motivated and works well in a team environment
• Ability to work required overtime

Certifications & Competencies

• Core Competencies: Excellent time management skills, ability to work required overtime, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Language Skills

• Must be able to communicate in the English language, verbally and in writing

Computer Skills

• Systems Proficiency: Basic computer skills (Google Enterprise, ADP, ERP System).
• Working knowledge of Visual and RF Plus preferred
• The employee works on the production floor.

Physical Demands

• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job
• Able to lift items weighing up to 40 lbs
• Able to work standing up or sitting down for extended periods of time
• Able to bend, scoop, flex, in order to reach items to be stocked or pulled from shelves

Work Requirements

• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
• Requires advanced reasoning ability
• Ability to work required overtime including weekends
