Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to teach Creative Dance, Hip Hop, and Break Dance.

Responsibilities

Bloom School of Music and Dance is looking for Dance Educators. At Bloom, we want our dancers to enjoy dance for a lifetime. Job Duties

• Teach weekly hip hop dance classes that engage body and mind in a safe, supportive environment
• Maintain consistency in class curriculum and management based on age appropriate learning and department standards
• Attend regular staff meetings and engage in mandatory department training
• Participate in departmental and cross-departmental collaborations
• Complete student assessments and advancement recommendations
• Choreograph pieces and prepare students for performances
• Participate in the execution of student performances

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience teaching children between the ages of 3 and 17
• Understanding of dance pedagogy and how to scaffold concepts and goals
• Access to reliable transportation
• Must pass background fingerprint clearance
• Excellent time management skills
• High school or equivalent
• Ability to teach the following styles of dance to an advanced level:
• Creative Dance (ages 3-5)
• Hip Hop (ages 4-17)
• Break Dance (ages 4-17)

Preferred Qualifications

• Exceptional communication skills (in person, phone, email)
• Technology Friendly (video content creation, google suite apps, music editing etc.)
• Collaborative and community-minded team player
• Developmental or ECE training or experience
• Ability to teach or converse in a second language
• Post Secondary dance or education degree
