Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One-year hospital HIMS experience preferred.
• Data entry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, sort, and collate medical records in patient files.
• File and retrieve medical records on request.
• Locate records for review by ancillary departments, committees, surveys, etc.
• Examine patient records for completeness and required information.
• Answer telephone and take requests for medical records or information.
• Notify physicians for incomplete H&P within 24 hours of admission.
• Route originals and copies of dictation to proper areas.
• Pickup and deliver patient medical records.
• Assign discharge dates for outpatients in PATCOM within policy timeframes.
