USMD Hospital at Arlington is seeking an HIM Technician to maintain health record integrity and ensure timely, accurate information for providers.
Under supervision of the HIM Director, the role requires RHIT certification, 1–3 years in health information management, and experience with electronic health records and documentation compliance.
Job Purpose: The Health Information Management (HIM) Technician is responsible for the day-to-day tasks required to maintain the integrity of the health record. The role of the HIM Technician is integral to the overall function of the health system and patient care, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of available information for providers. The HIM Technician works under close supervision of the HIM Director.
Required Licenses/Certifications: Active Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification required.
Work Experience: 1–3 years of experience in Health Information Management, medical records, health information services, data integrity, or a related healthcare environment preferred. Experience working with electronic health records required. Experience with medical record review, data quality, release of information, patient identity management, or documentation compliance preferred.
