Job summary

Cabell Huntington Hospital and St. Mary’s Medical Center seek a Health Information Management Supervisor to oversee daily HIM operations, supervise clerks and technicians, and ensure accurate, secure patient information handling in line with laws and policies.

You will collaborate with the HIM Manager and other departments to support workflows, staff development, and regulatory compliance while optimizing HIM systems and processes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in HIM or 5 years HIM experience.
• 1+ year supervisory experience preferred.
• RHIT/RHIA certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule, train, and evaluate HIM clerks and technicians.
• Oversee daily preparation, scanning, quality review, analysis, and archiving of patient records.
• Monitor the authorized release of PHI and coordinate with ROI vendors as needed.
• Track staff productivity and departmental performance metrics.
• Support standardized HIM workflows, policies, and procedures.
• Coordinate implementation and updates of HIM applications with IT.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide staff training.
