Job summary

Labette Health in Parsons, KS is seeking a HIM Specialist I to gain basic knowledge in the Health Information Management department, focusing on scanning and analysis. This role will serve as a backup to the primary technicians.

You will retrieve discharged records across inpatient and outpatient services, scan into the EHR, assign mnemonics, and ensure signatures and documentation are complete. On-site opportunity with an essential role in patient data integrity.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous medical office experience inclusive of document management beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Timely retrieval of all discharged patient records inclusive of inpatient acute care, inpatient rehab, swing bed, observation, outpatient surgery, and emergency room visits.
• Efficiently scan the above medical records into the patient’s electronic health record and properly assign document mnemonics.
• Accurately analyze each patient record to ensure all necessary documents are present and any missing electronic signatures are identified.
