Job summary

Laredo Medical Center is seeking a Director of Health Information Management to lead the HIM department across revenue cycle, MPI, imaging, ROI, and chart management. You will collaborate with the Facility Privacy Officer to ensure HIPAA compliance and drive policy enforcement and data quality across the health system.

The role requires strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams, while aligning with accreditation standards and quality controls.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Health Information Management required.
• Seven+ years of experience in lieu of degree and must obtain an Associate within an agreed timeframe.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or higher.
• 3-5 years of leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee HIM department functions including Unbilled/Revenue Cycle, MPI, imaging, ROI, and chart management.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and privacy regulations alignment with FPO.
• Monitor KPIs and drive improvement initiatives.
• Lead staff, set goals, evaluate performance, and manage budgets and resources.
