Job summary

Merit Health- River Region is seeking a Health Information Management Director in Vicksburg, MS. You will oversee Unbilled/Revenue Cycle, MPI, imaging, and ROI, ensuring HIPAA compliance and data security.

The role also partners with the Facility Privacy Officer and hospital leadership to enforce policies and drive quality in health information management. You will supervise staff, set strategy and budgeting for the HIM department, monitor KPIs, and champion process improvements, staffing and

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Health Information Management required or equivalent experience with time to obtain an associate's degree.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred in a relevant field.
• RHIT or RHIA certifications preferred or actively pursuing.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and report incomplete or delinquent medical records to leadership and committees.
• Track HIM KPIs and lead improvement action plans.
• Oversee MPI integrity, duplication resolution, and demographic validation.
• Coordinate with IT/EHR teams to resolve system issues impacting HIM workflows.
