Position Summary
Bayfront Health is seeking an HIM Deficiency Analyst II. The responsibilities include:
- Managing deficiency tracking and the overall workflow of health information in the electronic medical record.
- Reviewing clinical documentation to identify missing deficiencies and documentation.
- Training and educating Analyst I staff to ensure proficiency in record completion.

Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
(Flexibility for weekends and holidays may be required)
Responsibilities
- Retrieve, process, and ensure all discharge records are complete from all patient care areas.
- Analyze and monitor medical record deficiencies according to regulatory requirements.
- Perform daily deficiency analysis to ensure chart completion.
- Assist with reanalysis and imaging of loose sheets from discharged records.
- Collect and report statistical data on physicians’ documentation and completion procedures.
- Support medical staff in record completion processes.
- Understand and perform corporate suspension procedures in the absence of the Analyst III.
- Lead training and education efforts for Analyst I in Record Access and Birth Registry areas.
- Train new team members on HIM systems to ensure compliance and timely documentation analysis.
- Maintain proficiency in deficiency analysis workflow.
- Assist with quality audits as needed.
- Understand and support the suspension process for HIM Analysts.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and healthcare team members.
- Ensure workflow efficiency within assigned areas.
- Meet productivity, timeliness, and quality standards, and contribute to monitoring through documentation and data management.
- Maintain punctual attendance and compliance with hospital policies and standards.

Qualifications
Education/Training
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Computer literacy and keyboarding skills; minimum typing speed of 30 WPM.
- Pass a Windows proficiency test with 80% or higher prior to interview.
- Medical terminology knowledge.
Licensure/Certification
Experience
- At least three years of progressive experience in Health Information Management.
- Completion of an approved HIM or HIT program may substitute for up to one year of experience.
- Experience with chart completion and deficiency analysis preferred.
