Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Health Information professional in Utah to manage daily queues, error corrections, and patient data accuracy within Epic EHR systems. You will collaborate with Revenue Cycle, Patient Access, and technical teams to resolve issues while maintaining PHI compliance.

The role requires analytic thinking, detail orientation, and strong communication skills, with preferred RHIA/RHIT credentials and participation in HIM/IT professional groups.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex information and apply appropriate critical thinking solutions.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily work queues accurately and on time.
• Demonstrates proficiency in advanced functions of multiple patient identification systems.
• Complete time-sensitive daily error queues and patient error corrections.
• Interact with Revenue Cycle, Patient Access, Technical and external partners to report and resolve errors.
• Maintain accurate statistics to support quality and productivity standards.
• Demonstrate proficiency and compliance with laws and regulations governing PHI.

• Responsible for accurate and timely completion of various daily work queues and duties as assigned.
• Demonstrates proficiency in advanced functions of multiple patient identification and other systems used by Intermountain.
• Responsible for accurate and expeditious completion of various time-sensitive daily error queues and sensitive patient error corrections.
• Interacts with other internal and external stakeholders including Revenue Cycle, Patient Access, Technical, and other external partners as needed to report and resolve errors.
• Responsible for accurate statistics to maintain high quality and productivity standards.
• Demonstrates proficiency and compliance with all existing federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing Protected Health Information.

Qualifications

Required

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex information and situations and apply appropriate critical thinking solutions.

Preferred

• Two-year Associates or four-year Bachelor's Degree.
• Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Management Technician (RHIT) credential.
• Epic Electronic Health Record system experience.
• Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or currently enrolled in a CAHIIM accredited program.
• Participates in local, regional, and national professional Health Information and Information Technology groups such as AHIMA, CHIMA, HIMSS, and CHIMSS including continuing educational programs and activities that pertain to healthcare and professional credentials.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent interactions with customers that require caregivers to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.

Salary

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$20.82 - $31.67
