Job summary

Three Crosses Regional Hospital is seeking an HIM Clerk committed to clinical excellence and building a patient-centered culture. The Health Information Management Specialist will maintain and review paper and electronic patient health records for hospital and clinic settings, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities include retrieving and organizing records, handling incoming documents, protecting PHI, and supporting providers to complete records before delinquent

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• At least 1 year of HIM/healthcare experience required.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve, compile, and maintain paper and electronic health records for hospital and clinic patients.
• Monitor incoming documents daily and process according to policy.
• Maintain confidentiality of PHI in compliance with HIPAA.
• Process routine requests for patient information per policy and regulations.
• Validate HIPAA and PHI forms for accuracy and completeness.
• Analyze inpatient, day surgery, observation, and outpatient records for deficiencies.
• Perform concurrent and retrospective review of patient records to support physician completion.
• Organize and maintain health record files and logs in the EMR.
